The Proposal
We had just built our first home together and we wanted to throw a first annual Christmas party/ housewarming. I was so caught up in the planning and stress of having 60 of our families and close friends over that I didn’t even notice Shane sneaking around the day of the party. By the time the party came around, he announced that he planned a game (which I knew nothing about). So he pulls the names – me, my brother, and my two best friends are seated and blindfolded. We each opened a gift, my friends opened late spare flutes, brother opened champagne and I opened a toy ring. He told me good job you guessed it, you can take your blindfold off. And when I did, he was on one knee!
The Dress
Rachel wore Style D2169 on her wedding day. She said “ I wanted something elegant and whimsical. It was my one day to be a princess and I wanted a ballgown.”
The Wedding Details
Our theme was elegant, simple and whimsical. Our colors were white, gold and champagne. Simple decor with pops of gold and 3 ft tall centerpieces with beautiful white flower arrangements.
Rachel’s Favorite part of the wedding:
It was an absolute washout the evening of the wedding- thunderstorm and all. The church had these large wooden doors at the entrance where the aisle began. I anxiously waited behind those doors with my papa on my arm for what seemed like hours. I was so ready to see Shane. Finally, the doors opened and as soon as they did thunderstruck- it was pure magic. Seeing my husband waiting for me at the end of the aisle was by far my favorite part of the day.
