Real bride Taylor and her husband Kurtis had a beautiful wedding dedicated to celebrating their love for each other. As a bridal salon owner, Taylor had seemingly unlimited options for her wedding dress. Taylor chose Stella York Style 6581 because it made her feel “like a bride and the most beautiful women in the world”. Enjoy reading the sweet details of their special day!
The Proposal
We were in Florida with my entire family. We went down to the beach to do family pictures and there was a weird feeling in the air and my boyfriend was acting a little weird. Kurtis and I went in for a couple of picture and as soon as I thought we were done, he said: “one more” which is usually my line! I smiled at him and he bent down on my knees so I naturally did the Taylor Swift and covered my mouth in disbelief that the love of my life was on one knee. He opened up two seashells with the most beautiful rose gold ring and asked me to marry him. I barely said YES and kissed him. In the background, my family was cheering in excitement that they were gaining another family member. Talk about an amazing day.
Finding The Dress
Owning my own bridal salon, I was lucky enough that one of my employees came in on Sunday when we’re closed and surprised me with my an entire appointment of food drinks and all my favorite dresses steamed and ready for me to try on. Our designers sent in dresses that we didn’t have in the store that I thought could be the one (Style 6581 was one because it was brand new). I tried on everything from lace, to fit & flare to sparkle and I felt like the dress was wearing me. Â I wanted to shine and feel beautiful but not have the dress overpower me. As soon as I tried on this clean & simple dress on with a blingy belt and a veil, I felt like a bride and the most beautiful women in the world. I knew it was the one as soon as I put it on. I loved this dress for the fact that people expected me to either wear two dresses or have a dress that was over the top because I owned a store. It was such a comfortable dress that there was no need for two dresses.
The Wedding Details
We had aubergine, vintage rose, rose gold with a touch of greenery as our colors. The day was solely focused on Kurtis and I. I wanted to portray our love in every way possible, we had a live singer singing “Heaven” by Kane Brown when I walked down the aisle. During our first dance, we had a slideshow of pictures throughout our five years together along with a photo album that guests could look through. We were blessed that all the speeches talked about our love and how good we were for each other making our love grow deeper and deeper. We had my aunt marry us which was a special moment and allowed us to prepare the ceremony in ways we could describe our love through her words.
One of the BEST parts was getting him out of his shell and our reception walk-in song was to “You’re the one that I want” by Grease, he   the male portion and I did the female portion. We got together for the chorus for a little dance and ended with the Dirty Dancing lift! Did I mention it was take two of them because I fell on my crinoline on the first attempt!
The moment I looked at my dad and said I was ready. When we started down the aisle I locked eyes with my soon to be husband and have never felt more loved or happiness in my life. I knew this was going to be the best day ever and I will never forget the moment I first saw my husband.
