Let’s begin with Shane’s dream-worthy proposal. “Shane proposed to me at a surprise birthday party he threw. He had all my friends and family who lived in town, my dad who lived in Florida and his family from out of town were in attendance. He gathered everyone around to watch a video slideshow of my life and in the middle of the slideshow, it trails off to a video of Shane secretly traveling to Florida to ask my dad in person for my hand. He also showed asking my mom and most importantly my daughter.
After the video, he stood in the middle of the room with my daughter, who held the ring, got on one knee and asked me to marry him in front of everyone. Not only did he get my local family and friends in on the surprise, but he also had my out of town friends all on FaceTime to witness the proposal. It was one of the most beautiful moments ever.”
Another beautiful moment? When Kayla chose her Essense of Australia wedding dress!
“I have a thing for strapless mermaid wedding gowns. I found my dress at the first boutique we visited. After trying on several dresses, I was getting to the point of giving up for the day when I decided to try on just one more dress. It happened to be D2308. When I put it on, it already got like a glove and when I turned to look at myself, I exhaled because I knew it was the dress for me.”
Kayla and Shane’s big day was just as beautiful as her gown! “The theme of our wedding was simply elegant. The colors were white, black and peacock with hints of bling. The colors we chose are our favorite colors and everyone knows I love peacocks.”
When asked what her favorite part was, Kayla couldn’t pick just one. “The entire day was memorable from getting ready with my bridesmaids and our first look, to saying our vows and our first dance. Our day was perfect!”
